The courts of the Hearts suit from following deck show inserted heads of a dog. The deck is one in a series of ten different decks, each with inserted heads of a different type of dog. The designs of the inserted heads are taken from the back designs, which were all painted by Robert J. May. Now, there is only one thing one can do with a single image and that's mirroring it. In each of these decks this technique was used on some of the courts. The design is also repeated on each of the Aces of Spades and -slightly tilted- on the jokers too.
We'll show you the Hearts suit of one deck and the Ace of Spades, Joker and back in full here too. Together with all the back designs by Robert J. May you can picture what the courts, aces and jokers from the other decks will look like.
The decks were printed at the Carta Mundi plant in the
US in 2008.
There are 52 cards, 2 jokers and an
extra card in each deck.
