- THE INTERNATIONAL PATTERN & ITS ANOMALIES -

-23-

The next deck is an example of the present internationalism in the card industry. The deck was ordered and published by an American company, but the cards were printed by Carta Mundi in Belgium and the box was produced in China.

The designs are rather traditional and very close to the original pattern. But what is unusual, is that the designs overlap the outlines, which gives the basically flat design a certain depth.

The "Wizard" deck was printed in Belgium and  published in the US by US Games Systems Inc. in  1996 as the "Wizard Card Game", a special game to play.

The "Wizard" deck consists of  52 cards, 4 jokers and 4 wizards. It has  a notebook and rules too. But when you leave out the wizards or jokers, the deck can be used for poker or bridge too.
