- THE INTERNATIONAL PATTERN & ITS ANOMALIES -

-46-

This deck was made in Italy, but probably published in Ethiopia. The faces of the courts have features that reveal different origins and cultures. The center design is used to show their traditional dress. Here the uncolored faces and the outline around the design make the resemblance to the international pattern. Only on some courts the center design is complex and "flat" enough to do the same. Attributes, except for the Q's flowers, have been replaced. There's no suicide king. The Ace of Spades has a special design. The other aces are plain, but as Italians manufacturers often use the Ace of Hearts to mention their name, that has been done here too.

The deck was printed by SIC Offset and published by Erresei Plastic Cards from Milano. It consists of 52 cards, 2 jokers and 2 extra cards.
