We acquired the deck here below during one of our vacations in France. We were in Bourges and had decided to taste the local atmosphere there. A big playing card poster in the window of a perfume store caught our eye and when we saw several nonstandard court cards laying next to the poster, we went inside and inquired if the deck was for sale. Usually when we explain that we are card collectors, a deal can be made, but this French lady was strictly obeying the sales rules and we had to buy a bottle of Serge Lutens perfume, starting at 65 euro per bottle. It was quickly decided that one deck would be enough!

The deck consists of 52 cards and 2 jokers. It comes in a carton box.
The courts show oriental designs and fabrics in black and red. |

Although French indicators are used, we don't think that the deck was made in France. The quality of cards and box would suggest a more East Asian origin too. |
