March 15

According to Braun the deck was only produced between 1913 and 1917 and maybe that's why it's a pretty rare deck to find. Of course we all want to have such decks in pristine condition, but with rare decks you have to take what you can get. So the condition could be better and there was no joker with this deck, but today's "Mecklenburger Cards" still show the fine chromolithographic portraits that Dondorf could produce. On the courts there are 24 representatives of the House of Mecklenburg from the 16th to the 19th century, ranging from Grand Dukes and Queens to high ranking civil servants. The aces show scenes from the Mecklenburg region in fine gray tones. The tax stamp on the AH dates the deck as pre-1918.
