OLD-FASHIONED
playing cards

The second deck comes fom France. We found it at the annual "Moules & Frites" festival in Lille in 2005 and we don't know anything about this deck, except that our deck lacks one card: the 7 of Clubs. The deck doesn't look like the work of a small printer, so it was most likely made by one of the established playing card manufacturers. The deck should consist of 32 cards. French indices and 1's as Aces.

It was published to promote the ready made fashionline by Sylvia (a brand or a shop?) that was named "Créations du Marais". The Marais is one of the oldest districts in Paris, situated in the 3rd and 4th arrondisement. "Sylvia" was appearently specialized in blouses for women. All the models show a different one. The fashion style is definitely 50's.

All the names of the different blouses are mentioned on the cards. Either the name is under the picture or when it's not there, it can be found in the picture itself. This could mean that some images were taken from a magazine or catalogue.
