March 2

Today's deck was printed by Lattmann from Goslar for Ch. Burow in Hamburg. It was published as "Deutsche Skatkarte" in 1914. Publisher's name is on all jacks and the AH. The kings present former emperors of the Holy Roman Empire: Charlemagne, Charles V, Otto I and Leopold I. Non-standard presentation of suit signs, except for the hearts of course. The clubs (kreuz in German, meaning cross) are indeed presented as a German cross. A not often seen deck, but I'll keep looking for one in better condition.
