PLAYING CARDS on ICELAND
"Islenskir Hvalir"
The deck was printed by Carta Mundi from Turnhout, Belgium, and published by H. Sandholt from Reykjavik in Iceland in the late 1990's. The deck consists of 52 cards, 2 jokers and 1 extra card. Each suit shows the same series of 13 different whales, with their Icelandic and Latin name. The jokers show 2 other whales. They look like pictures, but are actually drawings by Jón Baldur Hlíđberg from Reykjavik.
