Design for a bunker, French, 18th century.
Drawn on this playing card is a design for a kind of bunker with two rooms.
This fortification was apparently intended for permanent habitation because the
drawing also shows a chimney. The upper sketch shows the plan view. The wall
across from the entrance is equipped with an embrasure. Whether this kind of
bunker was ever actually build, however, is unknown.
